It’s my first real home I’ve had for 30 years. By accident really… I was staying in the George [hostel] with Geeza [my dog] and they’ve just changed the laws about dogs… It’s the longest I’ve lived [in one place] my whole life – as much as a home will be to a homeless person, d’you know what I mean?  I don’t see it as the same as other people’s homes. I think it’s just convenient.

Yeah, I get bored stupid sometimes. You don’t get bored when you’re outdoors all the time. Out and about in the city centre, trying to find a bit of sunshine, cup of coffee something to eat, do the charity shops.

I’m really thankful for my health. That’s the main thing, because if you’re not healthy, it doesn’t matter how good your life you’ve got, you can’t enjoy it because you’re not feeling well. So having gone through that illness last year, coming out of that and on the other side, getting my health fully back.

The key thing to do is just don’t give up on anything. D’you know what I mean? Try to be the best you can, in real life. And that’s it. Always try to strive to improve even a little bit every day as it makes a lot of difference.
