I’m quite creative. I like to write poetry. I’ve written poetry about local residents, and passers-by, and dog walkers in Blockhouse Park. I do drawings and paintings which go along with my poetry, and I’ve read some out to little small public events, which is quite fun. It’s great fun… I think, really, there should be a blue plaque on my flat when I’m gone. It would say “Resident poet used to live here to 2000s”.
I moved into the area only about eight years ago. But in the last three or four years, I’ve been more and more involved in the community, in respect of I think primarily The Village Hub, Blockhouse Park, local businesses, and I love living here… If you go right up to the top and look south west towards Mountbatten just past there, the view is outstanding and it changes every time I go up there. And that’s my favourite part.
[This is] Mickey – he’s my rescue dog. I was very fortunate to get him a couple of years ago, and he has changed my life and everyone knows him in the village and he they know me and him together, which is lovely.
